About the show
After two fabulous years suffering tragedy, lost love, kidnapping and murder, the Players are ready for some comic relief in the form of this classic Restoration farce. First performed in 1773, it concerns Kate Hardcastle, who poses as a servant girl to win the heart of a gentleman too shy to court ladies of his own class.
A number of delightful deceits and hilarious turns of plot must be played out before the mating strategies of both Kate and her friend Constance conclude happily.
